After more than twenty years in the company of Wilberforce and his friends in the Clapham Sect, I am no longer engaged in research and writing. Instead, I teach freelance, largely on Zoom, a range of courses on British, American and European history. Anyone is welcome to join!
My previous published works have included Hannah More: The First Victorian (Oxford University Press, 2003), which won the Rose Mary Crawshay Prize for Biography in 2004. Wilberforce: Family and Friends (Oxford University Press)was published in 2012, and in 2020 Pen&Sword published The Lost Queen, my biography of Princess Charlotte (available on Amazon and Kindle).
(Since this photo was published, my hair has gone grey, which will give you an idea of why I’m cutting down on so much of my previous work!)
